Shock, disbelief trail Pastor Adeboye's retirement as General Overseer of RCCG
Nigerians have reacted to reports that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has retired from his post as the administrative head of the church.
The former lecturer had reportedly stepped down from his role as the ministry's overseer with another senior pastor, J O Obayemi succeeding him with immediate effect.
He was said to have made this announcement on Saturday, December 7, having led the church since 1991.
While the news of his retirement still looked unbelievable to some Nigerians, others believe the man of God has actually paid his due and has earned the accolades that he has gotten over the years.
Several others expressed optimism in seeing the RCCG maintaining its standard which Pastor Adeboye has reportedly kept religiously for more than two decades.
